2 Week Checkup!

Baylee and Tanner had their 2 week well check today! All good news. Both of them got back up to their birth weight! Tanner weighed 5 lb 14 oz, and Baylee weighed in at 4lb 14.5oz! I'm so happy that they got their weight up. Especially Baylee, cause she is a slow eater and just takes her sweet time. The Dr. said that it isn't very common for twins to get back up to their birth wieght, especially since they started so little. So We are Proud Parents! They also had to do a follow up pku test, where they prick their little heels to get blood samples.. So sad!! Baylee screamed.. and Tanner, well he is pretty laid back and just whimpered a little, then was just fine. What a tough little guy. The Dr. said they are both such healthy and happy babies. We love these two more then we could ever explain. We are so excited that we started this chapter in our life and we can't wait to see what fun adventures we have ahead of us.

..In Memory..

5 years ago today, July 31, My mother passed away. My mother was an amazing woman. She fought so hard the last couple days of her life. I will never forget sitting next to her holding her hand with my sisters as we watched her struggle for her last couple of breaths. Holding her hand so tight and not ever wanting to let go.
Losing my mother was one of the most difficult things that I had to overcome in my life. The pain never really goes away. In her life she experienced many health problems and struggled through the last years of her life with epilipsy, her loss of hearing, and her weight. Although my mom couldn't drive and was limited to certain activities there was always one thing that she always did and that is bring a smile to my face. She was happy and I know it was because of my sisters and I. I think that her fight at the end of her life was a fight for us. I don't think she was ready to leave us yet. And this thought made me very sad and almost angry that heavenly father called her home so early. Through the past five years, I have had many moments to reflect back on the memories of my mother, and have come to the conclusion that it was her time and that she is happy and Heavenly father loves her so much that he wanted her to be with him. Now, how can I be angry with that? I know that she is always with me and I can feel her close. I have a strong testimony of the gospel and I know that families are forever. Its through my faith and knowledge of the gospel that have gotten me to know that I will see my mom again.
There are times now that I know she is with me. Almost a year ago, I was involved in a car accident. A guy ran and red light and t-boned my car hitting me directly on the drivers side door going about 45mph. My car was completly totaled, but I was fine. I did not break any bones or get a scratch on me at all. I walked away with just a few bruises. I didn't have time to brace myself before the car hit me but right before I got hit I felt something just hug me really tight. My car flew about 30 feet into oncoming traffic and luckily there were no cars there. But I was able to crawl out of the other side of my car. No whiplash. No backpain. Nothing. And for some reason I really think that it was my mother. She protected me just as she did here on earth. I thank her for that everyday.
A mother is your best friend, or at least mine was. I do wish she could of been here to see me enter into each chapter of my life, to just talk to and see her smile at me and know that she is proud of her daughter. Now, I know that she was there when I was sealed to Brent and that she probably walked hand in hand with my babies. But I do miss that suprised happy look on her face when I would show her something I did or she watched me perform. I wanted to see that when I walked into the room in my wedding dress or when she would hold her grandchildren for the first time and give me hug and tell me what a good job I did. That is what I really wanted and what I really miss. I can't let it bother me though because she is there. She is my angel and she will always be there to watch over and protect my family. I will continue to live through her example and her love. As a mother, I will show my children pictures of their grandma and let them know how much she does love them. Her legacy will not be forgotten and will continue to live throughout my life.
I love you mom and miss you always.

The good, the bad, and the ugly..

Every family has its trials. But this month has definitely been a tough one to overcome. I'm so grateful for the closeness of my family. The picture above is my Uncle Fred's business. Colonial Building Supply. It caught fire Monday night around 6pm. Colonial has been in our family for years. My Grandpa Hale begin this business and it has been a staple in our family for so long. My uncle is looking up. The front of the building is a complete loss, but the warehouse was saved and they will continue to be open to serve customers.
On July 14, 2010, the same day that my babies were born, My sweet cousin Jenna passed away after a tough fight against cancer. She was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma 4 years ago. She was such an inspiration to me and she will never be forgotten.

On June 23, my cousin Heidi lost her husband, Will Packer unexpectedly to heart failure.
He was also my Uncle Fred's only son-in-law. Will was an amazing individual with such a positive attitude about everything. He will truly be missed.
At times like this, I am grateful for my family. Through all our trials in these past few weeks. We will find a way to overcome and rise above the ashes. I honestly can say that I have the greatest Aunts, Uncles and cousins. We are all so close and I'm grateful for everything they do for me and for each other. Sometimes its hard to understand why things happen and when, but you just have to put all your trust in the lord and know that everything happens for a reason.

Baylee and Tanner UpDate!

Well, We are home! I have pictures of us coming home just haven't had time to upload them yet.
so they are coming soon.
Baylee and Tanner are happy to be home and so are mom and dad.. except we do miss having the nurses take the babies at night.. haha!
We love them with all of our hearts. They are so precious and we feel so blessed to have them home happy and healthy.
Brent is such a great dad, I love watching him with the babies, it just melts my heart.
I am recovering well, and have no complications, I have felt great so far.
The nights are long.. but its what we expected. I think Each night will just get better. Everytime I look into their eyes it makes sleepless nights worth it.
The LABOR story
On July 13th I woke up and was having contractions but they weren't to bad. I just went through the day like normal, laundry, dishes, made bows and even went to lunch with some of my cousins and went and visited Brent at work. While I was there I started having contractions more frequent but again.. didn't thing much of them. I went home and watched t.v. and finished packing my bag for the hospital and the babies. I was laying on my couch and started timing my contractions. They were about 7 minutes apart but still bearable. I called Aly and told her, She was in Bear Lake so she just told me to relax and if they get closer to go to the hospital. Brent got home that night from school at 9:30 PM and by then my contractions were uncomfortable. I decided to just take a warm bath to see if that helped. Which totally did.. I didn't want to get out of the bath.. By the time I got ready for bed, I was just laying there. I could NOT sleep. I got up and walked around, tried watching t.v and tried to get comfy on the couch. Nothing was helping and I was starting to shiver, But I wasn't cold at all. I said a prayer and got a strong feeling it was time to go to the hospital. It was close to midnight and Brent had a test he was suppose to take in the morning and I actually had a dr. appt in the morning as well. But because I was in pain and after my prayer I felt the best thing was to do was to just go and see. I thought maybe they would just stop my contractions and send me home. We got the hospital a little past midnight. My contraction were now 3 min. apart and I was still shivering uncontrollably. They admitted me and they got the sensors on the babies and the nurse checked my cervix. I was dilated to a 3 and 80% effaced. She said it was time for these babies to come!
We were so excited.. I was so scared, excited, nervous it just went by so fast! Luckily my Dr. was the one in house that night. So that was a huge relief. I got all prepped and ready. I had a
C-section. My spinal was given to me at about 1:40 a.m and the babies were here at 2:03 and 2:04 am!! I can't even describe my feelings when I heard Tanners cry and then Baylees. It is the most amazing feeling ever!
They took the babies and checked them and handed one at a time to Brent so he could show me. Then they had to take them to the NICU to have them tested and checked for a few more things. After I was all stiched up they took me to the babies. Everything looked GREAT! And they were able to come up to the hospital room with us. My dad and Mother in-law and my sister Jessica were all there waiting. It was a great to have them all there. I must say.. I have never felt so skinny in all my life.. haha!
We stayed in the hospital for 4 days and had many friends and visitors. Since we have been home we have had lots of help given and offered to us and we are so grateful for everyone that has helped.
THANK YOU!
**The babies also had their first Dr. appt today to just check their weight and make sure they are gaining weight the way they are supposed to! So far so good! We were a little nervous cause with Baylee, she is a very slow eater and just takes her sweet time. She drinks about 20 ml at a time where as Tanner will down 30 ml in ten minutes. But their weights are where they are expected to be and the dr. is very pleased. We love these two SO much!
Being a Parent is the most awarding thing in life.
We love it.

The Twins Have Arrived

Tanner and Baylee Bement have been born. Tanner was born at 2:03 AM on July 14, 2010 and weighed 5 lbs 9 oz. Baylee was born at 2:04 AM on July 14, 2010 and weighed 4 lbs 14 oz.

Yesterday, July 13th, Candice wasn't feeling well and was having quite a few contractions throughout the day. At about 11:45 PM she decided it was enough and time to go to the hospital to see what was going on. We half expected to get sent home since she hadn't been dilating just a few days before, we wanted to be safe though. Once we got to the hospital, they gave us a room and a nurse came and did a few tests. We had some news, she was ready to get pushing. Well, since we had planned on doing a C section she wouldn't be doing any pushing. They started to prep for the surgery at about 1:30 AM and by about 2:00 AM they had entered the world. We didn't get any sleep last night but it was well worth it. I've posted over 100 pictures at the following link, email me if you have any problems viewing it.

Belly Picture Line up!

I didn't take as many belly growing pictures as I wish I would have.. Honestly who really likes having their picture taken when your pregnant!!? But you can see how much my belly grew!
Its crazy to think I will have TWO babies in NINE days!!
I look at my pre-pregnancy picture and I can't believe I ever looked like that! I think your pregnant for nine months so you forget what you looked like before.. haha!
And throughout the nine months you become not so worried about your body.. It becomes more about your child or children growing and developing inside of you. Yes, I did get stretch marks on my bum.. that was nice and toned. Yes, I probably will have extra skin once these babies come and my abs well.. they are just shot.. but I am just grateful for TWO sweet babies. Iam more proud of myself for carrying and growing two healthy babies and nothing is better then that. We love them so much! And these nine days are going to go by so slow.
I'm starting to feel calm and ready for the delivery, I actually can't even stand the anticipation!! Not because I am now VERY uncomfortable and I am constantly being kicked in the ribs and I think they are awake and moving more then they are asleep. But I want to see what they look like and tickle their little feet and hold their little hands, hold them both close and cuddle them all day. Stuff I'm nervous about still.. lets see.. Just being A MOM! Feeding both, making sure each of them get enough milk, and changing diapers.. I am sad to report that I can't even remember the last time I changed a diaper! I will get alot of practice though.
I am also SO thankful for my babies daddy!! Brent has been super supportive. He rubs my back everyday!! I just have to scoot close to him and he knows exactly what I need. Every time I get out of bed in the middle of the night, he will help me get all situated again so I'm comfortable. (which is multiple times in the night!) He also just works and works and works. He is working at the accounting office, Valley mental Health, and not to mention he is in school! He will wash the dishes, make the bed, and laundry. He is such a support, I could not do this without him. He is amazing!
..Brent, I love you! ..

These Babies are CoMfY!!

36 Weeks..
Love
1. Pregnancy pillow (thanks loni!)
2. Rasberries
3. Swimming
4. Back rubs
5. Watching the babies move
6. Weekly NST test
7. Not having stretch marks on my belly
8. Watching Lost with Brent
9. Crafting
10. Pedicures
Hate
1. Being tired..
2. Back hurts
3. Contractions
4. Not being able to stand for very long
5. Going to the bathroom
6. Iron pills..
7. T.V. (you can only watch so much)
8. Getting cervix checked..
9. The want to do so much and the realization that I can't
10. People telling me I look like I'm about to "pop"!
So apparently my body was meant to carry twins to full term.. I thought they would come early.. Yeah.. RIGHT! These babies are as comfy as can be. I can't complain to much because this has been a very easy pregnancy. I just barely hit the uncomfortable stage but its not unbearable.. So when I hear moms with singletons complain.. I just laugh. (no offense). Also these kids are going to be healthy and happy. Which makes mom and dad as happy as can be. Knowing that they can come anytime from now is kind of nerve racking... But We are SO ready. My bag is packed. The nursery is pretty much ready.. We are both so excited to meet our babies. I have another NST today and we have a doctors appt. on friday. But for the mean time we will see how far we can get into "lost". (see post below)

LOST

Yes, Brent and I are a little behind.. But with our two bundles of joy coming and the limited amount of activity we do to keep them in for the next 14 days.. We have been LOST.. Brent and I never even watched an episode before.. So we started with season 1 last week and now were about 5 episodes into season 2.
We are addicted.

But I loved getting out with just the two of us. I love our random little adventures.

my handsome man.

..JULY 3rd..
Hale Family had a BBQ prior to the fireworks. Good Food.. Good friends. All around amazing weekend.

Beautiful Sunset

..Jess and Jake..

Don't you think they look so cute together..?? yep, me to.

We live a block away from the beginning of the Murray city Parade, So we went and met my good friend Tonya from work and watched the parade together. I was glad to be able to see a parade. Since I'll most likely be in the hospital with my two babies for the bountiful parade on the 24th. I love Parades. And being at the beginning is the BEST cause they throw the most CANDY.. But you know me. I gave it all to the little girl next to me. Paisley would try to get it to.. she was able to grab a tootsie roll. Lucky dog.

GO UTES!

This was the coolest thing. My husband was in amazement as well.. There are 5 jeeps on in the center and the other four each drove one tire onto the the center jeeps tire! It was awesome!! We both think brents jeep should be sponsored by Teraflex.. don't you?
We are so proud to be Americans! We are thankful for our freedom and Independence.
We love the 4th of JULY!!

Baby B is not camera shy..

I have tried SO many times to get a good video of the babies moving. Which Is so HARD! But our baby girl decided she wasn't to camera shy.. So I got her moving. But the video really does no justice, They move so much!! I love it, and I think its one thing that I know I'll miss about being pregnant.. Who knew my belly would be so entertaining!?

The many shapes of my pregnant belly!!

Being Pregnant, people give you so much advice and what to expect throughout your pregnancy.. BUT nobody warned me about this... (warning.. bare skin..)

But seriously.. 35 weeks pregnant with twins.. and NO stretch marks on my BELLY!! Cross your Fingers it stays that way!!
