So Brent loves his bow.. more than me..okay not really, I'll always be at the top of the list.. But I just needed to explain how much he loves it.. Its like his 3rd child.. ;)He is so excited to venture out on a few hunts with it. His brother also got a new bow too and whenever they have free time they get together and go shooting and just talk bow stuff. I just nod and smile cause I usually have no idea what they are talking about.. Scopes and the pull back, release mechanisms.. heck, I'm a girl.. talk about your hunting shoes or jacket and I gotcha.. but as far as all the toys and parts to the bow..I have yet to master..
Anyway, Sorry to ramble.. back to the story.. So Brent's pull back on the bow was not long enough and he wanted to take it to a bow shop and get it extended and just tune the thing up since he bought it off some guy from KSL for a killer deal. First off let me explain.. (to the best of my knowledge..) Its a Matthews Bow, which are really good bows, this certain model is a year or two old but the bow alone is worth about $1200, The case it was in was at least $100. The guy also sold him 24 arrows.. which are about $15 -$20 each! and it came with two different thing-a-ma-jigs for pull back & release AND this amazing scope that is worth AT least $350..
& Brent got it all FOR
drumroll please...
$400
seriously.. What a steal huh!?
So anyway, Brent and Bubs (his bro) went to this bow shop in salt lake and explained to the owner guy what he wanted done to it and Brent took out his bow and the scope and the owner took one look at it and looked up at Brent and Firmly asked "where did you get this scope?"
Brent said he had bought it..
Then the guy said "This is MY scope & I'm taking it" and grabbed the scope and took it into the back
Brent yelled back at him saying he can't take something that he legally purchased.. without knowledge..
Apparently.. The SCOPE was stolen.. and who knows, maybe the bow and arrows were too!!
Well, after a few choice words and I say choice because I have never heard a curse word pass my husbands lips.. So to control the rage inside..he had to remain collectively calm.. (or I'm sure that guy would've died, my hubby is a pretty tough guy..) They both calmed down and explained each side of the story.. Brent gave the guy the number and name and address of where he picked up the scope and the guy gave Brent back the scope.. whew..
but honestly could you even imagine?? I look at it this way.. If some lady came to the gym wearing my favorite and most expensive lulu top that was stolen from me a few weeks ago.. & said she bought it at a garage sale or something..I would be pretty mad too..& demand she give it back to me..
(Okay.. I'm not that brave but I would probably make a joke about it towards her and see her reaction)
(Its a girl thing)
Anyway, After a long conversation.. Brent and that guy actually left friends. & the guy did all the work on the bow.. FOR FREEEEEE... What the?
I'm not complaining.. free.. At least neither of the were killed..Seriously.. though.. stolen property.. anger.. both had access to very sharp arrows.. I was surprised they made it out..
& all for free.
what a guy.
So there will most def. be a lot more of this..

Wow- that is a crazy story. I'm glad Brent was able to keep the stuff he bought and that the guy ended up being so understanding.
And I literally laughed out loud thinking of "bow fishing" :D hahaha
OMGosh seriously? that is crazy. I don't know what I would've done if I had been in that position. Props to Brent that couldn't have been easy.
